Playing Roulette – The Rules

Playing Roulette is not only fun but also by far the casino game with the best chances to win. In average more than 97% of the wagers are being paid out back to the players.

The original idea of the game evolved in China and the Roulette game as we know it has been played for the first time in Paris during the 17th century, with the same rules as today. Roulette, meaning ‘little wheel’ in French, since then has been established in every Casino around the world.

The game is consisting of the roulette table with a wheel and spinning ball which is going to settle down between a range of numbers which are coloured black and red.

The Roulette Table

The Roulette table consists of numerical ordered numbers which reflect the wheel with numbers from 0 to 36. The numbers are either on black or red background next to each other. The only number in green is the Zero, which results in the bank winning all wagers on the table.

The Procedure of playing Roulette

When playing Roulette a player bets on the number the Roulette ball will settle on. The Croupier opens the game by saying «Faites vos jeux» followed by the players betting on the numerous options to win, such as a colour (black or red), even or uneven numbers, high or low numbers or on a specific number. After the announcement «Rien ne va plus» no further bets are accepted and the Croupier is throwing the Roulette ball against the spin of the wheel. After the ball has settled on a number the winning number is announced and all winning bets are paid out. Then the next round will be started.
