The Labouchere Roulette System is another popular approach that is used for roulette and other casino games. It is also known as positive progression system and is similar to the Martingale method. However, it has fewer risks and the maximum bet is unlikely to be achieved so quickly.

Background

It is believed that the invention of the Labouchere system is related to the British politician Henry Labouchere, a finance minister under Queen Victoria, who liked to play games of chance. However, the precise origin of the system is not known.

How it works

The Labouchere Roulette System is about even money bets, that have lower risks for the online roulette game and achieve more stable earnings. And this is how it works: The Casino player writes down a number sequence, which determines the wager. The result is for example:

1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 3 – 2

The first bet in the roulette cycle is the sum of the first and the last number of the above sequence: 1 + 2 = 3. If the bet is won, these two numbers are deleted from the episode:

2 – 3 – 4 – 5-5 – 4 – 3 – 3

The next bet is the sum of the then first and last number: 2 + 3 = 5. With a winning streak, the player continues to strike through the figures. Once the sequence is complete, the player starts again with the same (or a changed) series of numbers.

Whenever the casino player loses a bet, he adds the amount of his last bet at the end of the sequence. If he, for example, lose the first bet, the sequence looks like this:

1 – 2 – 3 – 4 – 5 – 5 – 4 – 3 – 3 – 2 – 3

Here you can see how changing the stakes at every loss and gain. To explain the pattern we use the following sequence of numbers:

1-2-2-3-2:

Sequence application result net profit
1-2-2-3-2 3 loss -3
1-2-2-3-2-3 4 loss -7
1-2-2-3-2-3-4 5 loss -12
1-2-2-3-2-3-4-5 6 profit -6
2-2-3-2-3-4 6 winning 0
2-3-2-3 5 loss -5
2-3-2-3-5 7 loss -12
2-3-2-3-5-7 9 pay -3
3-2-3-5 8 profit +5
2-3 5 loss 0
2-3-5 7 profit +7

After the 11 operations resulted from the roulette cycle, a net gain of seven units. Compared with other roulette systems that estimate is quite attractive after six losses and only five wins.

The sequence of numbers to be used may choose any of the players. The longer the series, and the higher the numbers are (not only 1.2 and three) more aggressively, however, is the gameplay.
